Hello church,

This past Friday President Trump made the announcement that houses of worship are deemed essential and has instructed them to be reopened to continue regular scheduled programming per social distancing.

Although the government has now reopened worship facilities nationally, our facilities will not be reopened for corporate worship at this time. It is our privilege, responsibility, and command to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). I am still very concerned about the safety of our congregation and don’t believe that this is the right time to reenter our facilities for corporate worship and put God’s beloved people at risk. Therefore, until further notice, Bronx Bethany will continue to worship together virtually each week and connect through our various virtual mediums.

A portion of our facility has been open to serve our local community in this time of quarantine by distributing food each week to our neighbors through our weekly Food Pantry. We will continue this essential service and initiatives like this that serve the needs of people in our community.

I understand how challenging this time has been for us because we miss fellowshipping together. But I am certain that Christ is sustaining His church. Please continue to take advantage of the ways we’re now connecting with God and each other. Let us know how you’re doing by calling, emailing, commenting and directing messaging.

This is a new time for us all and there’s no roadmap. We rely on the Holy Spirit and the wisdom God has given us to navigate these days. Thank you for your faithfulness in this community of faith, to our Bronx community, and to the world. Your engagement has been evident and your commitment has been noteworthy.

Pray with me that God’s people remain encouraged and expectant. Believe with me that the Lord our God does all things well. God bless you my friends!

Love & Blessings,

Pastor Rich
