The Power of One – obedient & dedicated to God’s call. Only such a person could develop our award winning food pantry out of sharing food at a prayer meeting. Doreen recognized the need for food by members of our community and decided to respond practically and compassionately , forging through difficulties but never looking back. The need became greater and she sought to improve each day to meet and exceed expectations. That’s the Power of One life dedicated to God’s call. Doreen is a trailblazer, a visionary, a missionary extraordinaire. . Rest In Peace beloved.

There was never a more selfless person than Mrs. Doreen Rutty. She was always concerned about the welfare others. It was truly a blessing to be in her presence.
I first met Mrs. Rutty through her membership in the 900-1000 East 224 Street Block association. She worked tirelessly with other members for the betterment of the community. She joined the association in 1988. For the past 9 years she was President of the block association. She graciously accepted the leadership after the passing of my father Oscar Frazier Jr. My father had so admiration and respect for her.
She extended her kindness to family and myself during our health crisis. She offered healing prayers. She was more than a friend and neighbor. She went that extra mile for anyone.
She took great pride in her membership in Bronx Bethany. She helped organized the food pantry to help the less fortunate. I will never forget her kindness.
To Mr. Rupert and family you have my heartfelt condolences. May she rest in peace.

Please accept our condolences for your family’s loss. May you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you. Even our God comforts us with his promise:
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Rev. 21:4
Death is indeed our enemy as 1 Corinthians 15:26 says. However, what a glorious day it will be when the promise of Revelation 21:4-5 is fulfilled — “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain will be anymore. The former things have passed away. And the One seated on the throne said: Look! I am making all things new”. This promised will be realized by means of the Kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for – “Let thy Kingdom come, Let your will take place, as in heaven also on earth”. This promise is true. We are looking forward to seeing Doreen again when that Kingdom by Christ rules.
It was a pleasure knowing aunt Doreen. I called her aunt because of my relationship with some of her nieces and nephews.
